Project Help
Did you know?
Dickson Electric and Meriwether Lewis Electric both participate in Project Help.
What is Project Help?
Project Help is a utility assistance program that helps people who are struggling to pay their electricity bill. It’s usually funded by donations and administered through a local utility company or nonprofit.
Project Help (Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative)
What it is:
A voluntary energy-assistance program where members can donate a small amount (like $1 or more) on their electric bill to help neighbors who are having trouble paying their energy bills.
For Meriwether Lewis Electric customers:
You can sign up to add a donation to your monthly bill.
All donated money stays in the local counties served by MLEC and goes to community action agencies or local charities.
Those agencies determine eligibility and distribute funds to people in temporary financial hardship — usually during the winter or for emergencies.
Funds may help pay part of a past-due electric bill or prevent disconnection.
To participate or get info, you can contact your local MLEC office or email power@mlec.com
